Summary
[edit]DescriptionBall and socket ground glass joints.svg |
English: Drawing of ground glass ball and socket joints used for making laboratory glassware. A ball (inner) joint is shown on the left side and a socket (outer) joint is shown on the right side. The ground glass surfaces are shown with gray shading. By putting them together in the direction of the arrows, they can be joined, usually with a little grease spread on the ground glass surfaces. They are typically held together by a clamp. The ball joint goes in the socket joint to join attached tubular sections of glass together. H Padleckas created this image file in April 2006 especially for use in the article "Laboratory glassware" in Wikimedia. H Padleckas 13:29, 27 May 2006 (UTC) |
