Separate maxUploads for Flickr import in UploadWizard?

[edit]

Is it reasonably possible to have different values for UploadWizardConfig.maxUploads and maxUploads when importing files from Flickr using UploadWizard? (Bawolff sent me) - Alexis Jazz ping plz 13:29, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's not implemented atm as far as I know ... according to marktraceur it's not trivial but "reasonably possible, sure". He also says however that its inadvisable to increase it in the case of Flickr, as that tends to cause performance issues on the client side. Thanks. I was asking because I want to propose opening up the Flickr import/upload_by_url for all users. As there is some concern with mass Flickr imports , I'll propose to limit Flickr imports to 4 images each run. But I needed to know if this would even be possible before I could make such a proposal. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 15:54, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexis Jazz: IMO, the file upload url should be automatically be included in edit summary. This will help to identify file source, and detect copyvio. Masum Reza📞 16:06, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Masumrezarock100: I somehow thought it did, but indeed it doesn't.. but that's a feature request. Upload_by_url doesn't enable anything you couldn't do by simply downloading a file and uploading it here. It's just more convenient. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 16:18, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
